We are pleased to announce that this year at RIS News’ Third Annual “CIO of the Year” Awards, CIO Stacey Shulman took home the gold and was named “CIO of the Year” for the results she achieved using RetailNext!
Presented to the CIO who implemented an emerging technology that drove ROI through top-line growth, better customer satisfaction, and bottom-line savings, the “CIO of the Year” award recognized Shulman for her work at American Apparel where she increased sales by more than 30%, reduced theft by 16%, and realized 40% capital expenditure savings using the RetailNext platform.
“Shulman led a team that tested and installed an advanced in-store analytics platform capable of interpreting streams of digital video and recognizing human beings’ movement throughout the store,” wrote Adam Blair of RIS News in the magazine’s August 2013 story. “Now deployed chain wide, the solution lets American Apparel measure not simply the number of store visitors but customers’ movement within the store, as well as how these behaviors tie into actual register sales.”
Shulman drove this entire project from commencement through the large scale and highly profitable rollout the company enjoys today. She is the visionary leader who originally set her mind to closing the information gap between online and brick-and-mortar retail, and she led, inspired, and challenged her team to make this vision a reality.
Congratulations to Stacey for being named among the elite technology executives in the retail industry!
