Nate Mueller is the Head of Engineering at RetailNext.
Nate brings to RetailNext 15 years of experience in engineering management, distributed computing and network operations. As Head of Engineering, he is responsible for building RetailNext’s engineering team, delivering new features to customers and managing operations for cloud services.
Nate joined RetailNext with the acquisition of the startup he cofounded, Nearbuy Systems, in 2013. As Vice President of Engineering, he helped grow Nearbuy from four cofounders huddled in an unheated warehouse to the Wi-Fi analytics market leader, with millions of dollars in revenue and thousands of installed locations.
Prior to Nearbuy, Nate ran Aruba Networks’ AirWave software development group, one of the longest-running agile development teams in existence. He joined AirWave Wireless in 2006, prior to the acquisition by Aruba, and more than doubled the size of the team before guiding it through the merger. He came to AirWave from the University of Wisconsin Condor Project, a world-renowned distributed computing research team, where he helped build scientific computing grids for CERN, Fermi and Argonne National Laboratories and their collaborators.
