Performance Pulse Data Analyst


About the Role: RetailNext is looking for a Performance Pulse Data Analyst to work with large data sets and assist the world’s largest retailers in running their businesses by providing benchmarking analysis of the wider retail industry across various continents, regions, countries, and cities. As an Analyst for a thriving start-up, you will utilize your analytical, creative, and innovative abilities.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage RetailNext’s Retail Benchmarking dataset (the Performance Pulse) and conduct standardized recurring analysis to meet daily and weekly reporting requirements on retail traffic trends for the United Kingdom and Eastern United States.
  • Compile and aggregate data from the cloud platform using command line tools and Python.
  • Update Excel reports, identify potential data integrity issues, and escalate promptly.
  • Mine data to produce trend reports for specific retailers and broader industry consumption, identifying opportunities to expand reporting.
  • Use PowerBI to update public dashboards.
  • Actively contribute to a dynamic analyst team at a leading-edge technology company.
  • Model and analyze RetailNext's diverse data sets to prepare actionable recommendations for retail customers.
  • Collaborate closely with the customer success team to design and implement advanced data solutions for customers.
  • Work with product management, engineering, support, and other functions within the company to advance data initiatives.


Knowledge :

  • 1-2 years of related work experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Python knowledge and experience strongly preferred.
  • PowerBI knowledge preferred.



  • Strong understanding of and sensitivity towards data integrity and cleanliness.
  • Excellent attention to detail in numerical data and presentation precision.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis.
  • Passion for the retail industry and applying analytics to enhance the retail experience.
  • Ability to glean actionable insights from large data sets and build compelling stories using PowerPoint.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively.
  • Passionate about start-ups and big data innovation.
