Not so fast, Holiday, first comes Halloween

Before Holiday, there comes Halloween, one of the fastest-growing retail opportunities.

Retailers are already thinking about Holiday 2014. In fact, they started planning and strategizing around Holiday several months ago, and for good reason – just this week, the National Retail Federation (NRF) projected retail sales this November and December to increase 4.1 percent to $616.9 billion.

But before retail moves on to November, there’s another celebrated day to consider – Halloween. According to the NRF’s Halloween Consumer Spending Survey, the average person will spend $77.52 on Halloween, and total spending will reach $7.4 billion, making it one of the fastest-growing consumer “holidays.”
