Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled backend engineer to join our team. While our core backend stack is built in Go, prior experience with Go is not a requirement. We welcome candidates with a strong foundation in any statically typed backend language (such as Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C#) who are enthusiastic about working with modern, scalable systems. If you are interested in developing within a Go-based environment, we will fully support your transition.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and optimize distributed cloud systems for processing large-scale retail analytics data.
  • Work primarily in Go (our main language), or leverage your expertise in another language while ramping up in Go with our support.
  • Participate in our Follow-the-Sun operations model and rotating on-call schedules (no night shifts).
  • Maintain and enhance our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform using tools like Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka, PubSub, and RabbitMQ.
  • Contribute to our Continuous Deployment environment using Terraform and Puppet.
  • Focus on real problem-solving in a maker’s culture with minimal overhead and meetings.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced in backend or backend-adjacent development.
  • Proficient in at least one statically typed language—Go, Java, Kotlin, Rust, C#, etc.
  • Interested in (or curious about) working in a Go-based environment.
  • Comfortable communicating in English.

Bonus Points For:

  • Hands-on experience with technologies like Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Terraform, or Puppet.
  • Background in continuous deployment or Kanban workflows.
  • DevOps or infrastructure automation experience.
