Aurora® is an all-in-one IoT sensor that uses AI-powered computer vision and integrated stereo analytics to anonymously count people and measure shopper behavior — traffic, paths, dwell, and engagement — from a single ceiling-mounted device. Analysis happens onboard the sensor, and it also captures high-resolution video.

Aurora® delivers 95–99% accurate people counting using AI-powered computer vision that detects people up to ten times per second, with staff-exclusion technology for customer-only metrics. Every installation is manually audited for accuracy after install, with ongoing monitoring.

A standard camera records video and a basic counter counts entries; Aurora® does both and more. It combines people counting, behavioral analytics, and high-resolution video in one device, with onboard AI and edge computing, staff exclusion, and the accuracy needed to power analytics — replacing multiple point solutions with a single sensor.

Aurora® is a complete, self-contained sensor that consolidates traffic counting, video, and analytics into one ceiling-mounted device, so it doesn’t depend on your existing cameras — it replaces separate counters and camera systems. If you need to leverage existing analog or IP cameras, that’s supported through RetailNext Asset Protection’s video management.

Aurora® uses a privacy-first architecture: it analyzes shopper behavior using anonymized patterns and does not store personally identifiable data, with configurable privacy controls for different regulatory environments and SOC2 Type II compliance — supporting GDPR-compliant deployment worldwide.

Aurora® is designed for fast, low-touch deployment: it’s a single PoE device with plug-and-play installation, no onsite servers, and simple network configuration (one outbound port, no incoming ports, no VPNs). Centralized management and automatic updates let it scale from a handful of stores to thousands without changing architecture.
