With 2019 right around the corner, it’s time to think about your future and the future of your retail business. What does the next year have in store, and what can you do about it in-store?

There is a lot of talk about the “retail apocalypse” and how traditional retailers are being destroyed by the shift to online shopping. The reality is that shoppers are still shopping, but their discretionary spending is pulled in new and different ways. Retail isn’t being destroyed, but it is very much in the process of being redefined.

The coming year will see even more integration between brick-and-mortar retail and e-commerce, according to Alice Fournier, VP of eCommerce and Digital Insights for Kantar Consulting. “We’re seeing a lot of digitally native brands either opening a strong retail presence or launching pop-up showrooms in big cities,” she said. “Look for more connections between on- and offline, with brands using retail for more engagement.”

A new infographic by Geaves Surfaces entitled, “How to improve your store in 2019” takes a deep dive into the UK shopping market and shares tips on how to prepare your store for next year regardless of the geographic market in which your retail enterprise operates. The infographic also speaks about how other industry leaders such as Apple are redefining the in-store experience to be more relevant and personal.
