I was interested to see this study on showrooming behavior for a series of major retailers. The report is based on a survey of 14,925 shoppers in the United States. Although the information on methodology is a little vague, I believe the survey responses were compared to actual measured travel to physical stores in January 2013 in order to correlate these self-reported Amazon shopping behaviors to those who had a physical presence in various stores.
- Top at-risk retailers for showrooming are Bed Bath & Beyond, PetSMART, Toys R Us, and Best Buy.
- Among high-spend Amazon shoppers, the retailers at the highest showrooming risk are Victoria's Secret, BJs, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Toys R Us.
- Shoppers who used the Amazon Price Check app while in a store were most likely at T.J Maxx, Costco, or Office Depot stores.
