As a hardware-agnostic Software as a Service (SaaS) platform provider, RetailNext looks to integrate new technologies as soon as they come online and prove their value for our customers.

The sophisticated technology landscape helps RetailNext and its clients understand what happens in retail stores, but it also brings many complex challenges. Luckily, technology is an awful lot like ogres and onions … in that it has layers.

George Shaw (@kngpengwin), RetailNext’s Head of R & D, finds it useful to divide the “technology stack” into its layers, looking at and understanding each layer in its entirety, independently.

In this quick, 2:30 video, George provides an overview of RetailNext’s technology stack, and its four layers of Sensor, Processing, Analysis, and Presentation.
