While the retail calendar has changed significantly over the past few years, the holiday season continues to remain the most important one for retailers, and 2017’s challenging retail environment makes this upcoming holiday season perhaps the most important one ever – a true “make or break” for a number of retail enterprises. Not only will winning the season go a long way to making a brand’s year, but coming up short could affect its very ability to survive.
The next installment of the 2017 RetailNext Webinar Series, “Preparing for Holiday 2017,” Wednesday, August 23, will feature insights and recommendations on maximizing the opportunity presented by the holidays from Shelley E. Kohan, vice president of retail consulting at RetailNext and a faculty member at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and Julie Bernard, chief marketing officer at Verve.
Together, Shelley and Julie will lead participants on a discussion of lessons learned from recent holiday seasons past, develop an understanding of the key macro-level economic and micro-level shopper trends affecting retail, and construct an action plan of “must do’s” for holiday 2017. Ultimately, participants will leave with an understanding of key market insights and a specific to-do list of opportunities to maximize shopper experience, customer service and, ultimately, sales in the most important season of the retail calendar.
