In this month’s webinar, Shelley E. Kohan, RetailNext’s vice president of retail consulting and a teaching professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, will share her thoughts on how retailers are building their organizations around shoppers and their expectations. She’ll discuss why more and more we’re seeing marketing in the backgrounds of retail’s C-level executives, including that of the CEO. Kohan will also be looking at the role of new technologies in stores, from what she calls “store theatrics,” or building engaging and entertaining environments, to strategies for improving shopper interactions and infrastructures for newer omnichannel realities (such as buy online, pickup in store).

For this year’s holidays, the calendar throws a few quirks into the mix. Halloween falls on a Friday, and sets up a “Hallo-day” opening weekend for November. Maybe more importantly, Thanksgiving is comes late, similar to last year, posing some tough challenges to many retailers.
