I reported yesterday about the well attended and very informative session at the NRF LP conference on using video analytics to improve in-store performance. It turns out that yesterday the National Retail Federation also chose to report on this session in its official blog, Retail's BIG Blog. In its only coverage of a breakout session that day, the NRF blog reported that “…both American Apparel and Brookstone saw conversion increase and shrink decrease from video analytics.” One of the main points of the presentation is that video analytics can help the entire organization be more successful. As the article states,
“With this information, you’re going to be the center of attention. You’ll have multiple departments knocking down your door wanting to look at this and that,” Boremi said. “And that’s what you want to promote with video analytics. You want to drive your business to the next level,” Montez added.
