Kenton Chow is Chief Operating Officer at RetailNext.
Ken comes to RetailNext with many years of experience in managing all aspects of growth for software and infrastructure companies, both privately held startups and publicly held companies. He is currently responsible for driving RetailNext’s dynamic growth through its evolving business model focused on financial strategy, operational scale, support, administration, global sourcing, and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining RetailNext, Ken was Chief Financial Officer at Wine.com, Inc. While at Wine.com, he developed key e-commerceweb analytic metrics that drove 18% year-over-year growth to become the largest on-line-only retailer of wine in the U.S. He was responsible for finance, analytics, corporate sales, and partner development.
Prior to Wine.com, Ken was the Chief Financial Officer at Aurora Networks, where he was a key driving force for revenue growth from $80 million to more than $175 million in three years during the financial crisis. Ken drove the company’s increasing profitability to over 15% and positive cash flow in each quarter during his tenure.
While the Chief Financial Officer at Cobalt Networks, Ken grew the company from its early stages through its successful initial public offering (IPO) and guided the company through its subsequent $2 billion acquisition by Sun Microsystems. Ken has also held senior financial and operational management positions at several Silicon Valley software, infrastructure and financial companies, including Nominum, Azul Systems, Sun Microsystems, OpenTV, Symantec, Bay Networks (subsequently acquired by Nortel Networks), PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and KPMG.
Ken holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He is a certified public accountant in California and also served on the Advisory Board for the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University.
