Job Summary

The Revenue Accounting Manager is responsible for the full cycle of global revenue and COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) accounting (ASC 606), including performing all revenue processes and approvals, reporting requirements, revenue technical memos, and audit support for both international and US entities.

You’ll oversee all Accounts Receivable (AR) customer and subledger accounts to ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual billings. This includes reviewing all renewals, accrued revenue, and the AR Allowance for Doubtful Accounts. You will also ensure that payments are applied promptly, credit memos are properly handled, and that sales tax is billed correctly.

This role works cross-functionally with Sales Operations, the AR Global Team, Legal, and Systems Groups. A strong understanding of ASC 606 and US GAAP is essential. You’ll report to the Director, Global Controller.


Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • 6+ years of experience in Revenue Accounting

  • Proficiency with NetSuite (must-have)


Responsibilities

  • Manage revenue recognition processes and month-end close tasks in NetSuite.

  • Validate billing, upload revenue data (Pilot, Hardware, departments), and prepare terminations.

  • Prepare deferred revenue reconciliations and review sales tax reports.

  • Ensure accurate customer AR subledger balances and cash application.

  • Review and post AR and revenue journal entries for proper revenue treatment.

  • Maintain and update SSP (Standalone Selling Price) analysis.

  • Provide revenue accounting guidance on high-impact transactions.

  • Review customer contracts (MSAs, ASQs, POs) for compliance.

  • Coordinate with Ops/HR on commissions and bonus reconciliations.

  • Analyze ARR and Power BI metrics at the customer store level, identifying churn drivers.

  • Resolve sales tax issues, including working with state departments and software vendors.

  • Analyze and record stock-based compensation expenses and prepare equity rollforwards.

  • Lead sales tax audits and income tax provision activities.

  • Perform internal control reviews and support external audits.

  • Oversee and support Staff Accountant reviewing Salesforce deals, NetSuite estimates, and preparing COGS schedules.

  • Lead or support Finance/Accounting special projects.

  • Draft revenue and COGS technical memos as needed.


Required Skills

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication abilities.

  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition.

  • Expertise in accounting systems: NetSuite, Salesforce, MS Excel, Power BI, Carta, Avalara.

  • Strong analytical skills in AR, COGS, commissions, revenue, and FX/currency translations.

  • Comfortable managing and mentoring junior staff.

  • Ability to own and drive accounting processes independently.
