VP of Product Management

Europe, Remote; USA

About the role

We're looking for a Head of Product to lead our product organization and advance our product vision. This is a strategic leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for building and guiding a customer-centric product team.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on product engagement—someone who operates at the leadership level while staying deeply connected to customers, the product, and the teams building it. We're not looking for someone who will become disconnected from the day-to-day; we need a leader who remains deeply involved in what's going on.

This role offers an attractive opportunity for an ambitious product leader ready to step into an executive position. You'll have the autonomy to shape the product organization and make key decisions about team structure, processes, and direction.

Reports to: CEO

Location: Remote (US or Europe time zones preferred, East Coast proximity a plus for customer access; must be willing and able to travel regularly)

What You'll Do

Customer Engagement & Market Intelligence

  • Spend significant time with customers understanding their business, workflows, challenges, and the other tools they use
  • Participate actively in sales conversations and product pitches—good product managers do this regularly, and we expect the leader to model this behavior
  • Hear customer objections, competitive questions, and feedback firsthand to inform product vision
  • Proactively monitor the competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and market evolution—we're currently more reactive here and need someone to drive a proactive approach
  • Translate deep customer understanding into better product vision and roadmap decisions

Product Leadership

  • Own and drive the strategic product vision across our platform, including Traffic, Labs, and Asset Protection product areas
  • Use the product extensively—log in regularly, understand how customers use it, see what works and what doesn't
  • Move beyond inbound product management to outbound, strategic product leadership
  • Think constantly about customer evolution, competitor moves, and technology trends
  • Build credibility with engineering teams through deep product knowledge and demonstrated customer understanding

Team Building & Development

  • Guide, mentor, and develop current product team members
  • Recruit and build a team that embodies customer-centricity—not just as a leader behavior but as a team-wide expectation
  • Drive a model where product managers have clear ownership areas and spend significant time talking to customers
  • Foster a culture where the entire product team participates in customer conversations and sales support

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Build real credibility with engineering teams—this comes from being close to the product and truly understanding customer needs
  • Create productive tension with engineering leadership while maintaining collaborative relationships
  • Work closely with sales leadership to support customer acquisition and retention
  • Partner with engineering leaders (including those based in Europe) across time zones

What We're Looking For

Required

  • B2B software product management experience
  • Experience with applications serving business users who are not deeply technical
  • Strong customer-facing skills and genuine curiosity about customer problems and how they do their jobs
  • Ability to influence and build credibility across an organization, particularly with engineering teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly—this is essential for the role

Valued but Not Required

  • Previous leadership team or executive-level experience
  • Retail technology background (helpful for context but the right person can learn this space quickly)
  • Entrepreneurial experience—founders of startups that didn't scale are encouraged to apply; you bring fresh ideas, entrepreneurial thinking, and product-building experience
  • SaaS platform experience

What We Offer

  • Executive-level role reporting directly to the CEO
  • Opportunity to shape product strategy at a growing B2B retail analytics company
  • High-visibility position with significant organizational impact
  • Autonomy to build and lead the product function and make decisions about team direction
  • An attractive step-up opportunity for ambitious product leaders ready for executive responsibility
  • A collaborative leadership team that values product as a strategic function
